Mission and History

Through the years, KRIN has continued to be a catalyst, helping people and organizations think strategically, and creatively about reaching the North Korean people

KRIN October 2014

Our first meeting to create a collaborative network and mobilize resources was in Seoul Korea in Oct 2014.  Twenty seven organizations gathered together, many with a significant history of working on behalf of the North Korean people.  The outcome of that meeting was the launching of the Korea Reconciliation Initiative Network (KRIN).

The purpose of the network was to continue to mobilize and engage the global Body of Christ in support of an indigenous, North Korean Church.  We are a relational network of individuals and organizations who follow Jesus and work together toward developing indigenous sustainable Jesus-centered movements which will extend the glory of God among the North Korean people and beyond.

Mayday Consultation April 30 – May 1, 2015

The second meeting, the Mayday Consultation was held April 30 – May 1, 2015 in Seoul Korea.  About 200 attendees and 40 organizations came together to continue to strategize, how we can work together to see a multiplying, vibrant, self-sustainable North Korean church that is holistic, healthy, Christ-centered; leading the spiritual restoration of the North Korean people.

By 2020, and our Global Virtual Consultation, KRIN began to see ministry expanding rapidly towards North Korean diaspora, around the world.  This continued as significant efforts started unfolding to reach populations of North Koreans, wherever they are in the world. KRIN is now mapping these populations and recruiting global Christians to fill the growing need for more laborers.

Through the years, KRIN has continued to be a catalyst, helping people and organizations think strategically, and creatively about reaching the North Korean people, while concurrently facilitating the knowledge, resources, tools and relationships necessary to make that happen.  We’ve done that through NK ministry events in Seoul and Jeju South Korea, Mongolia, Latin America, Brazil, North America and online. We will continue to expand and recruit laborers into the harvest field of the North Koreans, until we see an indigenous movement emerge capable of seeing all North Koreans everywhere, won for Christ.
